Mast Cell Stabilizers
Medications that prevent mast cell degranulation and the release of histamine, tryptase, and other inflammatory mediators — used for MCAS, CIRS, and related mast cell disorders.
About Mast Cell Stabilizers
Mast cell stabilizers prevent mast cells from releasing histamine, tryptase, prostaglandins, and other inflammatory mediators. They are a cornerstone of MCAS (mast cell activation syndrome) and CIRS protocols, and are often combined with H1 and H2 antihistamines. Compounded versions are frequently requested because MCAS patients commonly react to the dyes, fillers, and preservatives in commercial formulations. Licensed compounding pharmacies can prepare cromolyn and ketotifen in dye-free capsules, oral solutions, and nasal sprays tailored to the patient's tolerated excipients.
